What’s so funny? Is it the mere fact that this former class clown turned comedian is opening for one of the most highly recognized and favored late night TV personalities? You guessed it; the godmother of dish herself, Wendy Williams, is performing this Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. The show starts at 8 pm with the highly anticipated opening from DFW’s K104 FM radio host Michael Shawn from the DeDe in the Morning Show. So you’re prepared on who Michael Shawn is, the captivating, rustic voice hilarious comedian began to hit the comedy scene in New York City to study his craft. His cousin took him to a few comedy clubs…until one day Michael tried an open-mic session. Michael got on, told a few jokes, and has not looked back since! Michael continued to frequent the city’s comedy spots, which gained him a reputation in New York, as well as back home in New Jersey.

Ironically, what began as short comedic skits on one of the local Hip-Hop/Club music stations, 100.3, eventually turned into Michael’s own time slot, out of which Michael Shawn’s World was born. With his infamous tagline “Can you feel me?” Michael’s notoriety continued to grow, both in the lines of comedy as well as a notable radio host. The Tristate, Delaware Valley, to the West Coast was definitely in touch with the stylings of Michael Shawn. While establishing himself as justifiable comedic talent, Michael graced the stages of The Improve and the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, California, as well as cracked up crowds in Gotham’s Comixs in New York City. Michael Shawn also made televised appearances on BET’s Comic View & Strip Comedy, as well as storming the stage as a special guest performer for the tough crowd of “Showtime at the Apollo”.

Currently, Michael Shawn frequently headlines Caroline’s in New York, as well as the Laff House in Philadelphia. He has been a co-host on the nationally syndicated “Miss Jones in the Morning” on WQHT/Hot 97. While there, he was the featured comedian for Hot 97’s “April Fool’s Day” at Madison Square Garden Theater.

Furthermore, Michael hosted The Beat’s Super Jam in 2010 and 2011. There is more to say about what is next for the Mike Shawn Comedy movement, which can be seen at www.MikeShawnComedy.com.
